| About
Ashta, Kasar :
|
This place is above 500 years ancient. Temple is situated in Ashta village. This
place was known as ‘Ashta Kasar’ after Kasar Jains. There was a time when around
200-250 families of Kasar Jains lived here.
It is believed that during Mughal period these idols were unsafe, the idol of
principal deity Lord Parshvanath was moved to a safer place into a wooden box.
The bullock cart carrying the idol suddenly stopped near Dustapur, 2.5 km away
from Ashta and even after several efforts it did not moved forward.
On that very night village Patel’s (Head of village) daughter-in-law dreamed
that the idol wouldn’t go anywhere and it has to be brought back. She told about
the dream to her family members in the morning. They all got happy and went to
the place along with villagers. They worshiped the idol and brought it back with
joy and devotion. A temple was constructed and the idol was installed with
reverence. Since then this idol is being worshiped as Village Lord.
Devotees get rid of their problems and difficulties only by a holy watch of
idol. Due to this the idol is famous as “Vighnahar Parshvanath”. |
