This Siddha Kshetra Aharji is very ancient sacred place and very important for historical & archaeological aspects. Broken fragments of Jain idols & Jain temples are available here in huge quantity here & there came out from the earth. From petrography it is very clear that there were so many sky high Jain temples made of stones.
By the inscription on rocks of V.S. 1100 to 1500, it is very clear that at the name of king Madanvarmdeo, old name of this place was Madansagarpur and a pond named Madansagar still exist here.
After the salvation of Bhagwan Mallinath (The 19th Teerthankar), 17th Kamdeo Shri Madan Kumar (Nalraj) and in the period of Lord Mahaveer, Shri Bishkambal attained salvation from here.
Atishaya – A famous businessman Panashah found here his tin metal converted to silver, this event shows the miracle of this place. The place where Panashah stayed here still exists. That place is known as ‘Tanda Ka Khandha’. (Jain Directory Mumbai Year 1914)
After fast of one month, an ascetic saint got Ahar (Meal) here when the disturbances created by Yakshini (The Mythological Demigoddess) vanished. So this place was given the name Aharji, the current famous name.
So many persons come here for fulfillment of their desires.

Here’s main temple is Shri 1008 Shantinath Temple, this has the 18 feet high, very beautiful colossus of Lord Shantinath, the principal deity with two standing idols of Lord Kunthunath & Arahnath in both sides.
This is one of the best idols of India in the views of sculptural art. Around the main temple, there installed “Tribal Choubeesee” (24 Teerthankars each for three eras Present, Past & Future).
Main temple was completed in 12th century and colossus of principal deity Lord Shantinath was installed in V.S. 1237.

Digamber – From 6:30 AM to 8:30 PM

There are 7 temples more other than the main temple. Among these under ground temple is important having 97 idols of V.S. 1109 to 2055 and feet images installed.
Nirvan Kshetra (The place of salvation) is on the top of hill, which is 1 km away from the Kshetra. A small pond named Madan Talab, a tank of water Madanber, Siddhon Ki Pahari (A Hill), Siddhon Ki Gufa (A Cave) are also famous.
Other than these Shri Vardhaman Mandir, Shri Bheru Mandir, Shri Chandraprabhu Mandir, Shri Parsvanath Mandir, Shri Mahaveer Mandir, Two columns of dignity in front of Bahubali Mandir (installed in V.S. 1011), Bahubali Mandir & Panch Pahari Mandir are also viewable.

There are three Dharmashalas with 170 rooms, some of them are equipped with modern facilities – Kitchen, Let-Bath, Fans etc.
